If you’re thinking about buying a home but feel like you aren’t prepared, then you’re not alone. Your real estate agent is an asset to you in more ways than you might believe. As you begin to prepare for the home-buying process, here are a list of questions that you can ask your real estate agent to make sure that you’re receiving the best deals.
How is the Crime Rate?
The safety of your home and your family should be prioritized. Your real estate agent should have all of the information that’s pertinent to the local crime rate, which you can look at to determine whether or not that area is ideal for you and your famiy.
Rent or Buy?
Depending on your financial situation, you can essentially decide this for yourself. Speak to your real estate agent to see what reasonable options are available in the area that you prefer. You can then narrow them down and estimate whether or not you can afford the home of your dreams. Renting shouldn’t be looked down upon as you’ll still be residing within a home and you’ll be able to work on putting yourself in a better financial situation.
Can You Renovate or Add on to this Home?
Ask your real estate agent whether or not you can alter the property as some areas may be located on a historic or preserved property. Alternately, there could be some limitations that are enforced through a specific state’s zoning laws. Your real estate agent should know what is and isn’t allowed on the grounds that you are buying on.
