David Winick is an amazing craftsman! Yes, I’m biased as I am a proud owner of a Winick Bambi, but I highly recommend this book be added to your collection. Similar to his outstanding work on Airstreams, those sleek, iconic American gems rolling down the road, this book is beautifully presented and is a MUST HAVE for anyone interested in Airstreams, and especially for anyone contemplating their own renovation. David provides terrific before & after photos and shares his knowledge of taking trailers through the resto process. I especially love his brutal honesty when he says something is, “butt ugly”, and therefore should be crafted into something more palpable (dinette & refrigerator). You will not be disappointed in this book!

Winick shows us why he’s Top Dog in the world of Airstream renovations. Not only is he a master craftsman in myriad materials, he’s also an amazing designer with a brilliant sense of proportion and propriety. He takes us inside his renovations and thought process to make the transformations seem entirely achievable. This is a much-needed reference-book-slash-joy-ride for the slightly un-hinged aluminum junkie 😉
