3 Ways of Winterizing the Home

Probably the most important season of the year is winter, and if you live in an area that is really cold, then the importance of winterizing it for these cold months cannot be understated.

In doing so, not only will you stay safe and warm but you can save money as a result. That said, here are 3 ways of winterizing at home:

#1: Empty AC units and insulate pipes

Having leftover water in your AC units will cause you to foot a repair bill during the summer. This is why it is a good idea for you to empty water from these units apart from the pipes and hoses that are connected as well. Also, insulate the pipes so as to prevent them from freezing. Most of all, it will avoid damage and save you on your electricity bill too.

#2: Clear or fix rain gutters

If you miss this, then the leaves will block the water from flowing and create ice dams in the process. As a result, this can damage your rain gutters and can also get water into your home. So, make you take care of this or else it can be dangerous for kids who will be playing around the house.

#3: Wear warm clothes and enjoy warm food

While this tip might seem elementary, it is probably the easiest way to stay warm. In particular, warm socks and a sweater will work the best along with hot soup, drinks and stews too.
